Training courses for businesses and employers throughout Powys

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (1981) require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable First Aid to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work. These regulations apply to all workplaces, including those with five or fewer employees, and to the self-employed.

If an employer decides to appoint first aiders, the first aiders must have a valid certificate of competence. There are two approved courses for First Aid in the workplace:

  • A one day Emergency First Aid at Work course.
  • The three day First Aid at Work course (replacing the old four day course).
