Who is this course for? The Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Frameworks provides the best possible preparation for achieving skilled and/or technician status within the industry.
Previous knowledge required: This framework does not impose any restrictions on entry such as minimum levels of qualification. However for entry onto the programme, candidates must be able to demonstrate the potential to achieve NVQ Level 3, Key Skills at Level 2 and a suitable Technical Certificate at Level 3.
What will I study? NVQ -This qualification structure is made up of a number of units that everyone taking the qualification must do, together with a range of optional units to give the qualification sufficient breadth. Key Skills - Key skills are essential skills which candidates need to function effectively as members of a flexible, adaptable and competitive workforce. Technical Certificate - Technical Certificates focus on the knowledge and understanding which underpins the NVQ competencies and additional knowledge to facilitate progression to Higher Education or higher levels of working.
What else will I do? Initial Engineering Training (IET) - Initial Engineering training is intended to equip apprentices with basic engineering skills, knowledge and understanding. It provides a firm platform on which further work-based skills development can be based. Employer Responsibilities and Rights (ERR) - ERR includes material covering: The responsibilities and rights of workers. Organisation, disciplines and the impact on the sector of public laws and policies.

What will I achieve? The successful candidate will receive an Advanced Apprenticeship completion certificate from SEMTA
