Who is this course for?
|
For those people who wish to progress from level 2 Hairdressing and stylists working in the hairdressing industry who want to extend their skills. Individuals undertaking this programme will find it challenging and rewarding, training and preparing them for advanced technical and creative work.

Previous knowledge required:
|
Prospective Candidates must have completed level 2 Hairdressing or have considerable previous hairdressing experience. Have an interest in working with the general public, a commitment to succeed within this vocational area and be successful at college interview
|

What will I study?
|
At Level 3 the training programme includes the following units: Advanced cutting, perming, colouring and techniques, including colour correction. Extensive styling and long hair work. Additional qualifications including: VTCT Indian Head Massage, Essential Skills and Coleg Powys Personal Effectiveness Programme.

What else will I do?
|
During your participation in the programme you will be working commercially in well-equipped salons on members of the public. You will work with real clients on a regular basis throughout your training. Salon management skills are realistically taught alongside formal training in practical skills. You will also have the opportunity to attend additional seminars and workshops.

How will I be assessed?
|
Assessments are carried out during the practical sessions where you will be observed treating clients. You will also have assignments and externally set exams
|

What will I achieve?
|
VTCT Level 3 Hairdressing Diploma; Indian Head Massage; Essential Skills and Personal Effectiveness Certificates.
|
|
What can I do afterwards?
|
Work within the industry as a stylist taking jobs with added responsibility such as senior stylist or management positions.
|

Materials required:
|
You will be required to purchase a uniform and additional hairdressing kit.
|

Additional information about this course:
|
You will be required to attend college salon one evening per week as part of your course.
