Who is this course for?
|
For those individuals who wish to work in an office environment carrying out tasks such as administration, reception or data entry. You may be a school leaver, someone wishing to make a career change, have a desire to update your skills or wish to return to employment after a break.

Previous knowledge required:
|
Level 1 and 2 candidates: There are no formal qualifications required. All applicants are interviewed and carefully counselled to ensure that the programme is right for them. A committment to succeed is essential. Level 3 candidates require an Administration Level 2 qualification or a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent experience in an administration setting, plus the completion of a satisfactory interview.

What will I study?
|
The NVQ scheme consists of core and optional units and requires the collation of a portfolio of evidence. The real life working environment involves working for the College's Office Services and the Level 3 course will also include a work placement.

What else will I do?
|
You will also do PSE, Key Skills if appropriate, OCR Text Processing Diplomas at level 2 and/or 3, ECDL, C&G Level 1 Award in Bookeeping and Accounts and OCN Level 2 Computerised Accounts .

How will I be assessed?
|
The course will be continually assessed through practical observations, personal competency and assignments. A portfolio of evidence is required.
|
|
What will I achieve?
|
NVQ Award, Certificate or Diploma in Business and Administration at Level 1, 2 or 3. Key Skills if appropriate, OCR Text Processing Diplomas at level 2 and/or 3, ECDL, C&G Level 1 Award in Bookeeping and Accounts and OCN Level 2 Computerised Accounts. Level 3 candidates have the option to complete AAT Level 2 Foundation.

What can I do afterwards?
|
Candidates could progress directly to work or with a Level 3 qualification progress on to full time Higher Education courses in Business/Administration related subjects.
