Who is this course for?
|
The programme is for anyone normally aged 16 years and over who wishes to return to education for general interest or who wishes to change their career.
|

Previous knowledge required:

No formal qualifications are required to enrol on the course, only a commitment to study and motivation to succeed. Acceptance onto the programme is by interview and the outcomes of initial guidance.

What will I study?

Students at Newtown can choose from the following subjects:
Communications/Study Skills
Information Technology
History
Psychology
Environmental Studies
Numeracy
Health Studies
Sociology
Philosophy/Visual Arts
Literature (including creative writing)
Students at Brecon and Ystradgynlais can choose from the following subjects:
History
English Literature
Sociology
Psychology
Health Studies
Each subject is broken down into units of study lasting for between 9-18 weeks and each unit can be taken separately.

What else will I do?

Students are encouraged to pursue other qualifications, such as courses in Information Technology, GCSE's, Key Skills, Personal Effectiveness studies and many others. Students may also take advantage of the activities run by the Students' Association and also participate in visits organised by their subject tutors.
