Transport

The local Authority provide free transport for eligible 16-18 year olds and subsidised travel passes may be available for older students. Application forms for transport will be sent out with course offer letters.


Individual Learning Accounts (ILA) Wales

Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

Full-time Students (Aged 16,17 or 18)
You may be eligible for a non-repayable Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) of up to £30 per week. Application forms are available from the college sites or from www.studentfinancewales.co.uk.


Assembly Learning Grant (ALG FE)

Students Aged 19 and Over, except on Leisure & Craft Courses
You may be eligible for a non-repayable Welsh Assembly Learning Grant (ALG FE) of up to £1500 (minimum attendance 500 hours per year required) or £450 (minimum attendance 275 hours per year required).  ALG FE can be used towards the costs of studying. Application forms are available from the college sites or from www.studentfinancewales.co.uk.


Financial Contingency Funds (FCF)

All Courses, All Ages (except Leisure & Craft Courses and Higher Education Courses)
Financial Contingency Funds (FCF) may be available, at the discretion of the college, to assist with the costs of attending college, including transport, childcare and equipment, but excluding tuition fees. Application forms are sent out in the information packs that accompany offer letters, or can be obtained from college sites.
